BrickWars Sets Description

Lego 8086 Star Wars Droid Tri-Fighter was a Confederacy droid fighter that was used extensively during the Clone Wars. It was specially designed for dogfighting, and was often sent in large numbers into battle. The droid had three bracing arms that encased the brain, which was in a spinning, gyrospheric core. Droid tri-fighters were armed with a central medium laser cannon and three smaller, light laser cannons, one attached to each bracing arm. These laser cannons could fire independently of each other, or all at the same time. Additionally, it could have anywhere from two to six missiles loaded on at one time; two missiles per bracing arm. One of the missiles the droid was capable of firing contained a payload of buzz droids. These missiles were called discord missiles. They could outrun almost any starfigher and then release the buzz droids onto the ship. Once latched onto a starfighter, the buzz droids would cut away until they were forcibly removed or until the starfighter was destroyed. The droid tri-fighter's bulky size, firepower, speed and the various payloads it could deliver quickly made it the rival of the Republic's ARC-170 starfighter.

The Lego 8086 Droid Tri-Fighter contains 268 pieces and includes 4 minifigures.

Lego "Shop @ Home" Description

Beware this devastating droid starfighter!

Attacking in swarms during the Clone Wars, these dangerous droid starfighters are a real threat to the Republic…and the Jedi Knights! Protected by a team of jetpack-wearing rocket battle droids and their commander, the droid tri-fighter unleashes the firepower of its blaster cannon and flick-launching bombs on the enemies of the Separatists all across the galaxy. A battle droid can fit inside the central pod!

Droid Tri-Fighter Set number: 8086

Pro's
1. Challenging to build
2. impressive design
3. good looking droids
4. Nice flick fire missiles
5. Sturdy construction

Con's
1. Stickers
2. Have to pile the droids in the cockpit sphere.

Remarks: After building this set I have found that it was a good pleasure build which I have built this after I built Anakin's Y-wing Starfighter. This set is great and small enough that perhaps you could take this with your kids to grandma's and Grandpa's house. I enjoyed building this set ans as much as I have enjoyed building this set I highly recommend this set to people who are graduating from the smaller sets.
