BrickWars Sets Description
Lego Star Wars 4487 Mini-Jedi Starfighter and Slave 1 from “Attack of the Clones” was a miniature version of the Jedi Starfighter and Slave 1. It was one in the series of Mini Building Sets from Lego. Extra pieces were included in this set, as with purchases of three additional (4484, 4485, and 4486) sets. Collecting all four sets, and combining the extra pieces included, allowed you to build the MINI TIE Bomber.
The Jedi Starfighter was a Delta-7 light interceptor known as the Jedi Starfighter used for reconnaissance missions. As part of the Republic’s Judicial department, the Jedi Starfighter painted in red and white colors represented diplomatic immunity. The starfighter measured 8 meters in length, 3.92 meters in width and height of 1.44 meters. A highly advanced starfighter carried state of the art equipment, however, faster than light travel was not possible without the aid of the hyperdrive booster ring due to space limitations for an onboard hyperdrive system. For armament, the starfighter was fitted with two twin barrel laser cannons. A truncated R3-D astromech was integrated into the starfighter primarily for targeting because of its vast speed caused the pilot to fire weapons inaccurately.
Jango Fett's Slave I was originally a Firespray 31 prototype police vehicle, that bounty hunter Jango Fett stole from the asteroid prison Oovo IV. The Slave I was continuously modified under Jango Fett’s ownership to prevent it from becoming obsolete. It became a well armed starship, with two twin blaster cannons, two rapid firing laser cannons, two projectile launchers, each holding a magazine of three homing missiles or a variety of payloads, and a naval mine layer holding seismic charges. The artificial proton torpedoes with mounted homing devices used to tag a ship for tracking purposes and many of these weapons hidden beneath the armor plated hull of the ship. Jango allocated two thirds of the ships interior for upgraded Kuat drive engines and power generators to attain sublight speed of a Y-Wing starfighter. Subsequent to Jango Fett’s death on Geonosis, his cloned “son” Boba Fett inherited the Slave I where he continued to make upgrades to the starship and used it on several missions during and after the Clone Wars.
The Lego 4487 MINI Jedi Starfighter and Slave I contains 53 pieces and includes no minifigures.
